There are times I too feel like a towering shell, maybe’s with something more to emerge or maybe I’m hollow. The ambiguity of hyper-connectivity and simultaneous isolation. Like a card game that’s loved by millions but invisible to the rest of the world. Maybe I’ll emerge, or maybe the shell is all.

Dimension Gate can tutor your deck for three mana or for free if you take damage. It has some toolbox applications in older formats, but in a game in which every card can be used as either Mana or a card, it’s deceptively bad for the cost. Usually better to just put more creatures in your deck.

An easy to always tell if the deck product was genuine or fake was looking at the flavor text on the Rothus in the front. As the foil one should exclusively have the text about "I have been to ten thousand dimensions, yet still I search for home.". And many of the fakes had the regular dm1 flavor.

Aura Blast was a Base Set card that would’ve been good if creature power impacted the opponent’s life, but unless you were dealing with blockers was pretty useless

Like many Base Set Cards, Scarlet Skyterror only soared to fringe play after the first block, but saw nonzero use in early Duema as a late game closer. In the anime, Shobu loses to it in the Pilot and later uses it to beat the big bad.

Super Explosive Volcanodon wouldn’t go on to win any tournaments, but as a base set creature include in the starter deck, Shadowclash decks, and McDonalds promo it was amongst the first and only cards of many American players. We love you Super Explosive Volcanodon.

It has been therapeutic to revisit the forgotten. Fatal Attacker Horvath was used a lot in the first season of the Duel Masters anime, and had an action figure with poor articulation.

Explosive Fighter Ucarn delivers on the cool factor. In early Duema there was little creature removal so it wasn’t *too* bad, but unfortunately wouldn’t see much play.

Deadly Fighter Braid Claw is a base set 1-drop that’s been the power ceiling for aggressive 1-drops throughout the game. It still sees play in Aggressive red decks and is as iconic in DuelMasters as Llannowar Elves is in Magic. #MTG #Duema

Chaos Strike is basically the “Fight” mechanic in Duel Masters, since creatures can always attack tapped creatures (in lieu of always being able to block like in Magic)

While Duel Masters has 5 colors that are WUBRG, the color identity specific mechanics differ from Magic. Artisan Picora is a good example of this, being a beefy 1-drop you have to sacrifice Mana for a la Rogue Elephant from Magic.
