Fear Fang was an early Vanilla creature. Something we don’t really see in current Duel Masters (or Magic) anymore

There are times I too feel like a towering shell, maybe’s with something more to emerge or maybe I’m hollow. The ambiguity of hyper-connectivity and simultaneous isolation. Like a card game that’s loved by millions but invisible to the rest of the world. Maybe I’ll emerge, or maybe the shell is all.

Dimension Gate can tutor your deck for three mana or for free if you take damage. It has some toolbox applications in older formats, but in a game in which every card can be used as either Mana or a card, it’s deceptively bad for the cost. Usually better to just put more creatures in your deck.

Cooling Vines was another example of bad cards added to the game to emphasize what constitutes a good card in comparison

Duel Masters has a Grizzly Bear. They even named an annual music festival after it.

Bronze-Arm Tribe, the Wood Elves of Duel Masters (functionally). An early staple of ramp that maintained potency from Nature (Green) gaining ways to interact with and summon cards in the mana zone. We love you Bronze-Arm.

An easy to always tell if the deck product was genuine or fake was looking at the flavor text on the Rothus in the front. As the foil one should exclusively have the text about "I have been to ten thousand dimensions, yet still I search for home.". And many of the fakes had the regular dm1 flavor.

Aura Blast was a Base Set card that would’ve been good if creature power impacted the opponent’s life, but unless you were dealing with blockers was pretty useless

Like many Base Set Cards, Scarlet Skyterror only soared to fringe play after the first block, but saw nonzero use in early Duema as a late game closer. In the anime, Shobu loses to it in the Pilot and later uses it to beat the big bad.

Astrocomet Dragon is not a good card, it has cool art though.

Duel Masters is a game that encourages attacking your opponent, and contains cards that punish you for attacking your opponent. The ebb and flow is addictive

Super Explosive Volcanodon wouldn’t go on to win any tournaments, but as a base set creature include in the starter deck, Shadowclash decks, and McDonalds promo it was amongst the first and only cards of many American players. We love you Super Explosive Volcanodon.

Don’t conflate simple with bad. Simple is often efficient. Take this Rock Dinosaur for example, it simply rocks.

Rothus my beloved, Rothus the goat. Included in the Base Set Starter deck and Mcdonalds Promos. Many associate the brand’s international run with Rothus. I don’t onow where he’s traveling now, but I hope he’s happy.

Onslaught Triceps has art you can stare at for a while without seeing everything. Our lives are filled with that which we could examine as nausea without fully comprehending. Card games are fun.

One of multiple early spells that were simply outclassed by playing a creature. Good art though.

When Duema gets an inkling of Western attention it’s usually because of Magic collabs :) no complaints here! Magic is the foundation Duema was built from!

I guess in the same way Duel Masters is forgotten by many but loved by few, I feel that way about myself

041

Cool Duel Masters Cards @duelmasterstcg.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

It has been therapeutic to revisit the forgotten. Fatal Attacker Horvath was used a lot in the first season of the Duel Masters anime, and had an action figure with poor articulation.

Cool Duel Masters Cards @duelmasterstcg.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Explosive Fighter Ucarn delivers on the cool factor. In early Duema there was little creature removal so it wasn’t *too* bad, but unfortunately wouldn’t see much play.

Draglide was in the base set starter kit and encapsulates the essence of Duel Masters’ cohesion with Science Fiction and Fantasy elements.

The idea that these can hang out in the same conversation as Blue Eyes White Dragon or Charizard in Japan is kind of neat

The Duel Masters Card Bolshack Dragon, a 6 mana cost Armored Dragon with 6000+ power, double breaker, and "while attacking, this creature gets +1000 power for each fire card in your graveyard."

The Duel Masters card Ballom, Master of Death, a Demon Command with "Evolution-- Put on one of your Demon commands", "When you put this creature into the battle zone, destroy all non-darkness creatures" and double breaker

the Duel Masters card Alcadeias, Lord of Spirits, an Angel Command with 12500 power, "Evolution --Put on one of your angel commands", "Players can't cast non-Light spells" and Double Breaker

Deadly Fighter Braid Claw is a base set 1-drop that’s been the power ceiling for aggressive 1-drops throughout the game. It still sees play in Aggressive red decks and is as iconic in DuelMasters as Llannowar Elves is in Magic. #MTG #Duema

Cool Duel Masters Cards @duelmasterstcg.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

Chaos Strike is basically the “Fight” mechanic in Duel Masters, since creatures can always attack tapped creatures (in lieu of always being able to block like in Magic)

Burning Power was included in the original starter deck and a solid example of a dead card

While Duel Masters has 5 colors that are WUBRG, the color identity specific mechanics differ from Magic. Artisan Picora is a good example of this, being a beefy 1-drop you have to sacrifice Mana for a la Rogue Elephant from Magic.

“What else could this cool dragon with guns on his shoulders need?” “How about in the art he’s pierced by a three prong sword and unbothered by it”

Deathliger, Lion of Chaos is the most sought after and expensive card from Base set. It didn’t see much play, but it was the first major antagonist’s card and the foil to Bolshack Dragon. It had a lot of merch.

Duel Masters Play’s got patched in the last 24-hours in a way that busted the previous translation method (which was not officially supported). So people like me who love the game won’t be able to play it in English for some time, if ever again. Kinda gutted about that.
