A week ago, we learned that the Supreme Court of NJ denied the Camden County Democrats' appeal of the unanimous Appellate division's decision in our case for the Cherry Hill Democratic Committee! We are appropriately filling vacancies with community leaders who want to serve!

Oh! They also appealed the unanimous appellate decision to the SCONJ, and we're waiting to hear whether SCONJ will take the case--but they denied the request for an emergency stay, so we're statutorally and legally good to continue the organizing work - with ten out of twenty four months hamstrung

We're back at it, but we effectively lost a year of organizing out of a two year term. In the past two months we've added 30+ members, and more to come.

Committee with 71 of the 74 from the losing slate, effectively handing a super majority to the losers--saying that all the 74 tied for 4th place (but voters only had two choices!). Superior Court Judge ruled in their favor, despite amicus brief from the AG and common sense, but we appealed and won.

Our win really starts with our county clerk saying that the ballot paper wasn't big enough to follow the new design law, so the three of us who submitted for a challenge ran against a slate of 74 (voters instructed to choose one). We dominated 63-37. They sued, arguing we had to fill the rest of the

We've definitely got stories. Two biggest ones are 2024 when goons literally blocked the door to keep a US Senate candidate from participating in the endorsement meeting, and where we won our entire town party committee election, and the party machine sued us to stop any of our organizing.

A result of this ballot design is the commissioner director won reelection by a lot - a callback to the margins that the county line advantage gave. The Camden County Clerk broke the law to make this happen.

@taniel.bsky.social forgot to raise another county level election race - progressive dems challenging the party machine in Camden county NJ again, this time against the commissioner director in office for 21 years. The clerk made a legally dubious ballot design that recalls the outlawed county line.

🚨🚨🚨Systemic racism in South Jersey🚨🚨🚨 Middle Township is attempting to abuse eminent domain in an historically Black community for a private housing developer, with a paltry, disrespectful offer to the land owners. Whitesboro was a community of Black people kicked out of Cape May in the early 1900s

Screenshot of news article: "The progressives won the primary with around 5,000 votes to the CDCC’s more than 3,000 votes.

But the math did not add up to progressive control of the committee, Beach argued, saying in a statement last week that “over 3,000 Cherry Hill voters voted for 74 qualified candidates that did the hard work of getting their names on the ballot. Three random candidates who could not put together a full slate of qualified candidates cannot disenfranchise over 3,000 voters. In short, we won 71 seats. The South Jersey Progressives won three seats.”"

Yes! Our county library system has been underpaying librarians-- masters required and something like $45k, where neighboring counties were paying >$10k more. Our librarians fought and won a better contract--but still less than other counties. Our county budget is >$500mil!!
