This is excellent. What truth in media would look like, if they ever reported it on the topic of #climatechange and #overshoot. Thank you, @thejuicemedia.bsky.social youtu.be/1FqXTCvDLeo?...

On March 15th, mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses our opposition, let's overwhelm him with his unpopularity and failure. We will bury the White House post office in pink slips, all informing Donnie that he’s fired. March 15th, 2025, a day hereafter to be known as #TheIdesOfTrump

According to the AP, Trump and Musk are terminating leases on 7500 federal office buildings. A quick Google search tells me there are 8,397 federal office buildings out there. If correct, that's like 90% of all federal office buildings. Anyone know more about this?

Why are Democrats acting as if this is all business as usual? We have an unelected civilian gaining control of government computer systems across several departments, and unilaterally deciding which congressional orders are funded and which are not. This is a coup. @schumer.senate.gov

This is some excellent 'show don't tell' advice right here. #amwriting #fantasy
A quote from Chuck Palahniuk:

In six seconds, you'll hate me.
But in six months, you'll be a better writer.

From this point forward-at least for the next half year-you may not use "thought" verbs. These include: Thinks, Knows, Understands, realizes, Believes, Wants, Remembers, Imagines, Desires, and a hundred others you love to use.

The list should also include: Loves and Hates. And it should include: Is and Has, but we'll get to those later.

Until some time around Christmas, you can't write: Kenny. wondered if Monica didn't like him going out at night..."

Instead, you have to unpack that to something like: "The mornings after Kenny had stayed out, beyond the last bus, until he'd had to bum a ride or pay for a cab and got home to find Monica faking sleep, faking because she never slept that quiet, those mornings, she'd only put her own cup of coffee in the microwave. Never his."

Instead of characters knowing anything.

It's me.
A comic, two dinosaurs, one a patient laying on a couch, one a Dr. taking notes.

Dr: Do you see yourself as a glass half-full or glass half-empty person?

Patient: Half-full definitely.

Patient: Half-full and constantly rising.

Patient: Soon the water will escape its container and consume us all.

Well this cartoon hits the nail on the head!
Image is of a comic, a family sitting around the kitchen table, talking.

Young Child: This cinnamon tastes weird.

Older Child: Daddy got expensive FANCY cinnamon. He threw all the OLD cinnamon out.

Young Child: Aww, I HATE fancy cinnamon!

Dad: It's not FANCY! It just isn't cut with lead dust.

Older Child: Yea Liz, lead is super bad for you. It's poison.

Younger Child: Oh.

Younger Child: Dad, how come you have to buy fancy things to not get poisoned?

Dad: Because there is no war but class war.

Handwoven napkins cut and ready for use. I wove with Gist Yarn's 8/2 Duet cotton/linen yarn. It was a delight to weave with, but as expected with linen, definitely needs ironing after a wash! Fast and easy weave, perfect as a break between more complex projects. #handweaving #fabricnotpaper
Image is of a handwoven fabric napkin. The primary color is a light silvery blue, with stripes of dark blue along the top and one side.

A recent #handweaving project. I wove this with alpaca fiber, the alpacas are raised (and spoiled!) at a farm near me, and they have a small fiber mill on site and spin their own yarn as well. The drape and thickness of this scarf is luxurious! #fiberart
Image of a handwoven scarf, the scarf is a deep cocoa brown overall, with variations of dark and light brown throughout. It has dark brown fringe.

I love this quote. Though I would argue that he, and those of us like him, are not traitors to our species, but a hero fighting for it. Those parasites exploiting our home beyond it's ability to regenerate are the traitors.
Image of Paul Watson with a cat on a ship with Fund For Animals written on it. Quote is: As for myself, I do not believe in loggers, I believe in trees. I do not believe in fishermen, I believe in fish. I do not believe in miners, I believe in the rocks beneath my feet. I do not believe in pie in the sky spirituality, I believe in rainbows, rivers, mountains, and moss. I do not believe in environmentalists, I believe in the environment. I am a proud traitor to my species in alliance with my mother the Earth in opposition to those who would destroy her, those parasites who believe the Earth is here to serve human interests."

Many years ago now, my family and I decided to stop exchanging Christmas presents. That first year was a little awkward, gifts had been such a central focus of the day we felt a little adrift, it took us awhile to find new ways of celebrating our love for one another. Now, we love it.
An image of a butterfly emerging from a cocoon and a quote from the 2024 WWF Living Planet Report that says:
"It is no exaggeration to say that what happens in the next five years will determine the future of life on Earth. We have five years to place the world on a sustainable trajectory before negative feedbacks of combined nature degradation and climate change place us on the downhill slope of runaway tipping points. The risk of failure is real - and the consequences almost unthinkable."

Love this reframing of the conundrum we're in.
Quote from Dr. Elizabeth Sawin: "It is some very effective marketing that has convinced us that getting off of fossil fuels is a sacrifice as opposed to a money-saving, peace-promoting, water-protecting, health-improving, technological leap forward.
