Veg prices would go up some, but not so much. Cattle need to be dealt with every day. Lots of work for ranchers and ranch hands. Carrots, in contrast, don't need to be rounded up and taken somewhere else, be branded or ear-tagged, all that. Much less work. Just picked, minimal processing.
