Well and they have redone Old St so I can’t vouch for it anymore but 🤞🏻

If it’s Moorfields Eye Hospital hopefully you can all have some fun following the thick green stripe on the pavement from Old St tube, there for people with sight issues 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

There will always be a firm who sends people to do the work. I don’t expect the guy with his logo covered is happy about being there. Most CRM/developer-led archaeology is at the behest of some grim client or other, current UK obsession is fighting over who gets to dig the data centres 👌🏻😭

But whatever opens up in its place will have access to the remains as part of their lease, so you will still be able to rock up and ask!

I worked with Jack Cardiff’s son for years, the tall tales of his homespun creativity were incredible. Also great starry gossip!

Lecturer close to completing 30 marathons in 35 days
The end is in sight for an energetic lecturer who has nearly reached his target of running 30 marathons in 35 days.

Still seeing some very crappy takes about the ‘facts’ around Jason Arday (RIP). Well he *was* cleared of plagiarism, and he *did* run marathons:
Front page of Wandsworth Guardian, 13th August 2010. Showing Professor Jason Arday smiling wearing a T-shirt with name of childrens’ hospice on the front. Headline reads ‘Clapham based lecturer close to completing 30 marathons in 35 days’.

#TinyJoys Babysitting for neighbours’ cheerful 14 month old daughter as our own teenage daughter is away. Little ones really are magic.
Gloriously chubby baby contentedly lying on sofa surrounded by cushion hedge, she’s drinking her bottle. Her face isn’t shown.

Reminder that the UK Animal Welfare (Sentience) Act (which banned the tortuous and horrendous live boiling of some animals) was supported by LSE Philosophers in an interdisciplinary team. #Humanities scholars for the win.

Note the absolutely *humungous* set of caveats around the London volunteering figures though 😭 (arch vols contribute £24.7m to London economy, except it’s more complicated). As with all economics, it’s really about the small print!

I'm very happy to have been awarded a grant from the Council for British Research in the Levant for the project: "Gaza on the Shelf." In cooperation with Dr Mazen Iwaisi we are coordinating a team of scholars to examine, digitise, and archive the diasporic Palestinian collections in the UK. 🍉

Glad someone has said this, I also struggled to make much sense of it. It won’t help the peer review process for funding either imo. Sad also to see ‘what works’ become uncapitalised, just re-fund the lost WWWellbeing for data-driven place-based responses to lots of the questions.

There’s a tiny shrine to the Dunblane children on an estate in Camberwell, maybe by a family member. Always really moving and a memory of a horrible day. Also v proud of how quickly we changed our laws. Lowe is so far away from public opinion on this.

😳 I think archaeology/museum content is perfect for it as it skirts on the edge of accuracy and most people understandably have little clue about facts. But people watching them in horror must also be a reasonable % of views.
