Excited to share our recent work on quantum-enhanced time-domain spectroscopy, in partnership with Universities of Glasgow, Strathclyde, Loughborough and Insubria showing 2x sensitivity enhancement! @epicxphoton.bsky.social @comolakephotonics.bsky.social doi.org/10.1126/scia...

Soooo... (incoming: #prouddad moment): @drlenny.bsky.social just dropped this gem, and on @science.org no less: doi.org/10.1126/scia... (if you are, like me, not a quantum physicist, let me tell you that @notebooklmdeepdive.bsky.social is only "vaguely" your friend: this is too far out...) 🤩

Our latest paper is out now in Science Advances (and it's free)! Lots of long, late nights in the lab, but I'm happy to present the first demonstration of quantum-enhanced sub-shot-noise THz time-domain spectroscopy www.science.org/doi/full/10.... #science #physics #quantumoptics #thz #research

Cooked this one up right around a year ago. Time for another attempt maybe? #blender #3dart #render #cgart

William Gibson. The man singlehandedly dragged me out of a 4-year reading hiatus, and trapped me in an ongoing obsession with cyberpunk/sci-fi

What do his comments on 9/11 have to do with this??? I'm not some diehard Hasan fan, and there are plenty of things I disagree with. Your examples are simply disingenuous and I don't believe portray the truth.

Dr Lenny Hirsch @drlenny.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

I watched them. Did you? Glad you've made your mind up that I'm a Hasan head too, based on nothing at all lol

010

Dr Lenny Hirsch @drlenny.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Ooh and another excellent news source, in which Hasan doesn't, as far as I can tell, say at any point that infants are legitimate targets. You're proving my point dude, you're not even reading/watching your own sources.

010

Dr Lenny Hirsch @drlenny.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

That's not how I knew. I knew because, just as you accused Hasan fans of cherry-picking clips, you seem to have done the same thing yourself.

There’s a program I use infrequently at work and when I need the password, I let my world get very quiet, focusing only on my fingers hovering above the keyboard, willing the symbols to reveal themselves. It’s primarily vibes and at least one dollar sign.

Literally the only reason I never listen to audiobooks is because I like to read in DETAIL. Like I want every last lil word, and in audiobooks I just miss that. Not because audiobooks are bad, purely because skill issue on my part lol. Gatekeeping books is weird as hell

If it makes you feel better, I've seen a bunch of these posts where the poster conveniently forgets to mention their 10-year career in VFX or CAD or sculpting etc. Good for them I guess, but a tad dishonest imo Some people are also just cracked, of course
