A Fisherman’s Tale is on sale for $2. It’s a short-ish puzzle adventure, but it’s fantastic. Haven’t played the sequel yet. Pistol Whip is guns, but rhythm action. Also really good. I Expect You to Die, Cubism and Red Matter, all fun uses of VR (all years old, though).

World’s weirdest gripe: if you set up Apple Home, there are default scenes “good morning” and “good night.” Siri used to say “good morning” in a cheerful tone, but they changed it to pure business. “Good night” is still cheery. I want my cheery good morning back.

I’m still mad about the Infocom text adventure “The Lurking Horror.” To “unlock” a “door” you need a chain, a lock, climb into an elevator shaft, wrap chain on metal bar, lock chain to hook on bottom of elevator, climb out of elevator shaft, get into elevator, ride it to top floor. You hear a crash.

It’s disturbing how accurate this is. When I moved to America as a kid I had a British accent. I spent about 6 months in Seattle and then moved down to Palo Alto (between San Francisco and Los Angeles). By the end of a year I didn’t have a British accent anymore. It nailed me.

My theory for a while is that *every* Star Trek show is a holodeck recreation of events derived from available logs. That’s why the depictions of the universe and tones vary so wildly.
