Ahhh, when I was a little kid nothing was more exciting than dreaming of the day when I could maximise my campaign's impact using objective-based advertising to achieve my B2B marketing goals with LinkedIn Ads.
An advert from Linked in which says "Maximise your campaign's impact using objective-based advertising. Achieve your B2B marketing goals with LinkedIn Ads." No.

In my hotel room with BBC News on, and there's an AI segment and it's two women I know and like (Stephanie Hare, @ruchowdh.bsky.social ) and whose opinions I respect. SUCH a good thing to see women giving the expert comment (+ also no surprise that it's often women taking the solid critical stance).

The 4.5hr flight delay aside, what an absolute treat to get to do an AI panel in Zurich with @eryk.bsky.social and @bvlsingler.bsky.social, both of whom are consistently excellent in their AI takes. Also I saw a goat robot.

I did my first ultramarathon today. 51.3K (they rerouted and added extra) and I enjoyed it mostly and didn't break any bones, unlike my last marathon. I'm knackered and desperately in need of something that isn't sugar but worryingly I haven't said that I'd never do it again.

Good morning, it is a bank holiday today in England/Wales/NI and I do not have to go for a v. long run as I have reached my two week taper. Today is for planning work stuff (needs must), dog walking, laundry, maybe a cocktail later then I'm off booze til after my 51.3K mid-month. Have a lovely day.

The edge of a bright yellow table is just visible. I am wearing yellow socks and green Converse shoes and a vivid floral skirt.

Glued to my phone this morning as the local newspaper brings me live updates + rolling coverage of a police cordon round the Cornish pasty shop two streets away. Might dander over. "The Cornish Bakehouse is within the police cordon; it is unclear if the business will open this morning as a result."
© edp24.co.uk

The footage, which appears to have been taken yesterday evening, shows two people trying to enter the Cornish Bakehouse while police officers are on the scene.

9:12 am 26/08/26
Earlier this year, masked youths armed with baseball bats were involved in a fight in the Haymarket area, which prompted calls for a stronger police presence in the area.

Forensics teams are due to inspect the cordon later this morning, says one officer.

Found vodka and cigarettes in the 16yo's bedroom so did what any responsible parent would do and bought 3m of crime scene tape and some evidence bags off eBay.
A picture of the area underneath a table. There is a collection of Fanta cans (because teenagers like collecting useless weird stuff) and a storage box in which you can see a half bottle of vodka in a sealed evidence bag and a cigarette packet also in an evidence bag. Across this is strung crime scene tape reading "POLICE LINE DO NOT CROSS". A pink post-it note saying "Busted! Come & talk to us" is attached to the table.

Today in "what a relaxing Sunday": following a long and far too hot run, plus the usual supermarket trip, we unblocked a chimney to rescue a pigeon that had got itself trapped. The living room is now 40% soot/dust but the pigeon is free (and very pissed off).
Clouds of soot and dust emanating from a late Georgian tiny domestic fireplace. In shot: my leg and foot and two rubble sacks (filled).

Don't know about werewolves but David Ireland was most certain about vampires when he wrote Cyprus Avenue.
An excerpt from the play Cyprus Avenue by David Ireland:
Slim: I don't mind Tom Cruise. Even when he's being a Fenian. Do you like Tom Cruise?
Eric: I don't mind him.
Slim: Aye, I don't mind him too. I just wish he'd stop playing Fenians. Mission Impossible - Fenian. Collateral - Fenian. Top Gun - Fenian. Jerry Maguire - definite Fenian.
And I'm pretty sure that vampire he played in Interview with a Vampire was a Fenian too. Do you ever notice that most vampires in most films are Fenians? Where are all the Protestant vampires, Eric? When will our stories be told?
When will we see Tom Cruise playing a misunderstood loyalist vampire getting burnt out of his home in Cluan Place by an unstoppable mob of ignorant, cock-eyed Short Strand taigs? When will that happen, Eric?
Eric: I don't think that will happen.
Slim: I think you're right. And the world is a poorer place because of it. So go on then.
Eric: What?

Abstract
While the production of real-life sex robots is currently only at prototype stage, sexualized female artificial intelligences have long been a trope in popular media. By critically analysing a selection of science fiction films and television programmes, we explore the narrative of fictional representations of eroticized female robots and the ways in which their reception feeds real-life expectation.

What are some issues Al users should be aware of?
Uh ... late-stage capitalism.
More usefully: check provenance - where's the data coming from? How ethical is the provider? Do they have a good track record of social responsibility? Would you let them control your oxygen supply on Mars?

What is the best way to responsibly build Al?
Regulation and conscience.

@kityates.bsky.social I've a question for you about the London marathon ballot. Entry numbers aren't fixed — you can apply up until the deadline. But they say "pay for an extra entry and double your chances!" but how can that be, if there's not a finite limit on who can enter the ballot? Confused.🫤
