I've never had (or applied for) a staff job in TV, but it always tough to get in. I've worked as supplier/producer for TV producers & channels since the early 90s. Sorry to hear you don't care about the sector due to the barrier to entry, but the prospect of it shrinking further is surely bad news?

An example of the hyper-capitalism world we're in. Vizrt's Mosart broadcast automation is a brilliant suite of tech - it's used in SO many creative ways.. but the big 'sell' now is replacing multiple production teams, putting more pressure on the remaining humans whenever there's a local incident.
