Changing pitchers in the middle of the at bat seems insane. You’re not setting the next guy up for success when he’s already behind in the count!

It’s been two years since Ontario Place West Island was destroyed for a planned private spa. Hundreds of trees were cut down - here’s a snapshot of the many species who lost habitat. 🧵

Side-by-side comparison of a landscape on the Toronto waterfront. In one scene, an island is covered in trees reflected in a still channel of water. The other image of the same place shows a barren stretch land with a pile of rubble in the centre.

This kid was in the gym during my men’s league game tonight. It is hard to process 7’6 in real life with only average sized people around him. Let’s say it’s “very tall.”

I don't have a personal account on here so I made sure to build one nu metal moment into this article I wrote about the three millenials currently ruining pop music and what might be done about it: holidaykirk.substack.com/p/the-imperi...

I tease because I think this is actually the perfect storm. Sheeran makes music for no one, music to be played in an Old Navy or empty 24 hour fitness, but this really has people talking. If some bot asks an earnest question about Palestine, awesome. Macklemost.

If the NPCs that listen to Ed Sheeran could read, the statements of these support acts would really make some waves.

It feels like I saw ETID a million times back in the day. In Oakville, at Hellfest, in support slots as they blew up. There’s something to be said for people who take the ethos of YMCA shows on to the world without diluting it or who they are. My thoughts are with his family.

Let me tell you, get relegated, keep most of your squad, come down the championship and larp as PSG twice a week. Score 3 a game at a canter, it’s a delight.

You can easily madlibs this statement into being true of just about any group of conservatives. Replace “antebellum” “the South” and “having slaves” with “oil and gas” “Alberta” and “climate change” or “tech bro” “Silicon Valley” and “poisoning three generation’s brains simultaneously.” Still works!

From that perspective, Vlad’s been a model citizen. It’s why he keeps doing the Gatorade baths even when he went 0-4 or the team was in a bad way. Keep going, keep grinding. Here he is pumping his fist after a fly out, as he drove in a run with a sac fly.

It’s stuff like this that can remind Jays fans why they invested in him the way they did. It’s a matter of consistency: not of outcome but of effort and attitude. Ball players talk often about the long season and keeping an even keel. Not too high, not too low, team first.

Unremarkable on its face but it’s very easy for a slumping player to take his struggles with him to the field and the base paths (he walked to reach here). Watch as he stays 100% in the game, gets a perfect secondary lead and digs down the line to stay out of the DP
