It has a certain 1950s retro feel in that sense. Uninterrupted lines flowing front to back, even trimming the top of the wheel arch. But then it has 90s logo energy on top of that, instead of going full-on Space Race. Some 50s/60s detailing would have been shocking and cool, this feels warmed over.

I think the fussy detailing hurts it. The XL1 was so clean that it’s remained timeless, whereas this has the worst of the new Passat/ID.4 swooshiness and poor surfacing that plague the current gen of VW products.

European truckers have 4-hour driving limits by law. The distances between stops and charging time with a huge network of 350+ kW and mW chargers coming online makes this mostly a solved problem. Not everywhere, but Northern Europe is full of EV long-haul trucks from trad OEMs already.

I drove @creatinglightly.art’s TT as my daily for years and never had a problem (it was mine then, I didn’t steal it). And I’m an old. I have a friend who bought an e85 BMW Z4 and after his first long drive he literally couldn’t stand for a week. Certain cars literally hit a nerve for some people.

Another amazing hidden gem of a car museum, this time in Denmark. Egeskov castle has multiple museums (and a castle) on the grounds. The real treasure is the attic of the motorcycle museum, full of old cars, car parts, and just random stuff. So many fascinating things to discover!

Spotted this lovely Citroën Cactus overlander in Hamburg today. With steel wheels it would be perfect.

@smithandsniff.bsky.social I’m sure you’ve already had countless responses on this, but Pininfarina also designed the Daewoo Tacuma, which is very much in the Matrix vibe of the early 2000s. I was an intern at I.De.A Institute in the late 90s and Korean cars filled the Italian studios at that time.
