Finally got to see Coffee & Cigarettes after all these years at one of our local art house cinemas. Knew about the Iggy Pop & Tom Waits bit (delightful!). Not all scenes are as great. But the Alfred Molina & Steve Coogan bit alone justifies the whole movie. Glad I saw this.

My funding runs out on - not a joke - 1 April. Nothing lined up subsequently. So hearing you loud and clear... That was also one of the things why there was such huge pressure on getting things done over the summer. But now I've made peace with that this is what it is. At least, I'm writing again.

This summer was supposed to be my writing _season_ Didn't get anything done. Then I left for 2,5 weeks of holidays (already booked half a year ago). Didn't feel like going at all because of being so behind. That vacation was a game-changer. Since I've been pack at work last week, written 5000 words.

Saw Dylan Moran for the 4th time last night. In Ghent for a change. Set was a bit rambling in the middle. Still, he remains a delightful performer. Not half as angry as I've seen him in the past. That does come with age as he freely admits. And most unexpected of all: he did skits with music.

We're repeatedly told that asylum seekers pose a threat to the good people of our country... Reading about the threatening and violent treatment of elderly and open minded locals in Crowborough I get the impression that the real threat comes from closer to home. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
