There is no reason to use AI to make art for your game. Use public domain images. Use abstract shapes to represent things. Take photos. Lean into your "crappy" art as a style. "But I can't do that" yes you can. You can try. Art emerges from your craft. Your voice will sing through. If you have one.

I used to draw LOTS. I'd stop and start over the years. My wife has encouraged me to take it up again, partly because everything else I do in my spare time has become my job so I am "hobbyless".
