My contribution to an old fancomic; Chapter 4 of "Fire And Iron". Set in early IDW, specifically after Optimus is dropped off on Earth at the end of 'Infiltration', starring his ship's crew. Written by @adtcomics.bsky.social. Read the Alt txt for my attempts to contextualise.

PREVIOUSLY: After dropping off Optimus with Prowl's infiltration unit, his chauffeurs Crosshairs, Backstreet, and Dogfight follow a Cybertronian S.O.S. to England, only to discover escape pods in a cave, open, and the Firecons unleashed! Attempting to avoid incineration, Backstreet dives into a pod and Sparkstalker and Cindersaur give it their full fury.
NOW: The escape pod has melted and buckled and fused with Backstreet as the pair of Firecons gloat before deciding to go help Flamefeather with the other Autobots.

At the mouth of the cave, Flamefeather hits the floor unconscious. Dogfight and Crosshairs are battered but victorious, and issue a warning to Sparkstalker and Cindersaur to surrender or face a worse fate. Cindersaur steps aside and reveals what they did to Backstreet, goading the Autobots into rash action. However, as the Autobots rush in, the fire in the Firecon's mouths abruptly extinguishes and the pair freeze. The two Autobots realise that, luckily, the Firecons had burned through their entire remaining fuel reserves.

At that moment Prowl and Ratchet arrive, having earlier heard Crosshair's call for backup. They rush evac, loading the Backstreet pod and Firecons onto their ship while Prowl destroys the two remaining pods to prevent local human life discovering their technology.
Later, mysterious agents in containment suits search the cave for leftovers, with one of them making an overlooked discovery.

The Doctor is best when he’s basically an intergalactic Bugs Bunny. Someone is being evil and this weird homeless guy who is otherwise not involved decides to take it personally. He’s impossible to kill and might be just amusing himself, then he disappears leaving bewildered onlookers in his wake.

The Apology Tour screening was fun. The Awakening short was actually very good for what it was - actual effort seems to have gone into it. Some alarming similarities to a short story I wrote myself (and have somebody currently drawing!) but that’s small reference pools for you.

Probably my favourite episode of Beast Wars is the one where Megatron turns Rhinox evil, and Primal’s plan to deal with this is to…leave them alone, because he knows evil Rhinox will systematically dismantle the Predacons.

Had a dream last night that they rebooted Dr Who but ONLY from the 6th Doctor onwards. They spent the whole first episode establishing that the 5th Doctor regenerated into the new guy and not Colin Baker. It was only marginally more convoluted than anything Moffat had done.
