Glorious Saturday @kentwildlife.bsky.social Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve… so many birds spotted or heard (25 different types) 🐦… managed a quick phone shot of the highlight of the day… a kingfisher and a great white egret together (happened a few times so they must enjoy each others company 😊)

Honoured to help promote the owl pellet workshops @KentWildlife Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve 🦉 A brilliant insight into feeding habits of the local owl population… classifying mice, voles and shrews was tricky but rewarding and the bones are now pride of place in my collection 🦴🔬💚

Did u know?Nesting season is underway.There's plenty of moss for the broody birds on my patch,but I always like to supplement their choice of soft material with organic packing wool.It's benign 'cos it's been cleaned at source. I cut it up into tiny chunks, so it doesn't entangle the chicks.🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🐦‍⬛

Did u know? This is what happens when you don't raze your garden to the ground in readiness for winter - i.e cutting seed heads off, clearing out plant pots, pruning spent stems & dead branches. If you leave stuff, then winter feeding insects like the Angle Shades moth larva still have food. 🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🐛

February is National Embroidery Month. A little intro to me: I'm Emily a wildlife and portrait artist in the UK. My art is hand embroidered (my version of) and I call them thread paintings. Favourite crisps flavour is salt and vinegar. My favourite embroidery technique is couching. #art #FiberArt
