"with Claude, we will no longer need lightly stoned weirdos who work at record stores because they are neurodivergent as hell and some band you've never heard of but is about to change your life is their special interest" these tech bros really hate anyone who was cooler than them in high school

No, SungWon is absolutely correct here. The insistence on sticking with the Japanese title when there is already a perfectly acceptable English one is utterly asinine. Nobody does this in Japanese literature, or film, or any other art form. It's just the anime nerds who insist on being obtuse.

I find it funny when people talk about how games are this art form that can make you feel emotions, but then you bring up something like wanting more games to have timers & people will say its bad design "because it makes me anxious" So emotions only allowed through story, not gameplay. Got it lol.

I wanted to show off Shiver's new back scales. I thought it be fun to do it in the smallest canvas of 50x50 pixels. Not only does it work but just happy how well this turned out. #kobold #pixelart #sprite #spriteart #furryart

A blue kobold with back facing the viewer. Clear squarish scales line his back. There is spikes down his spine. The background is a purple night sky

Grab your wall chicken for a packed lunch: we're off to Transylvania for a tasty treat of a gaming anniversary: the 40th since the release of Akumajou Dracula (aka Castlevania) in Japan! Share the Castlevania love, peeps. Your favourite music, games, and what was your first one?

A Japanese ad from Castlevania Realm for the FDS release. A musclebound barbaric looking Belmont stands dramatically in front of a castle, whip floushing as a toothy Drac looms above his domain.

Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.

A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future

"but mors, isn't that gatekeeping?" yes! ive maintained this stance for years: gatekeeping is a good thing if you want a community to maintain any kind of integrity we shouldn't be gatekeeping beginners though. we should only gatekeep these clout chasing larpers

im not automatically against all ai usage like some people are, but vibe coding the whole thing and then releasing it with a logo, full trailer, and shit tells me that you care way more about getting credit for having made something than actually learning the craft required to make it properly

all vibe-coded ports look and feel like shit because theyre made by people without the experience or passion to pay attention to the small details these projects are like a disease to the reverse engineering community and must be rejected at all costs if we want to maintain a standard of quality

Did the 9 games thing, focusing more on formative experiences and/or games that cemented my love for specific series, rather than just another list of favorites. Happy 40th anniversary of Castlevania btw! I'll be glad to try out Belmont's Curse :]

DrakRoar's list of "9 games that shaped who I am", featuring the following games:
- Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
- Mega Man X
- Contra III: The Alien Wars
- Banjo-Kazooie
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
- F-Zero GX
- Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
- Shovel Knight
- Pokémon FireRed

I've been wanting to update Shiver's design lately. I felt he was missing something. This also gave me a chance to adjust a few bits for my own artistic sanity.

A blue kobold head and a dragon. Both with dark square scales and purple eyes. Their back, wing, and arms have extra spikes. There is a blue that runs between the scales in a pleasant way

it is btw. anything that is capable of existing with the intent of altering ur emotional state, and that goal being achieved differently depending on the person because of difference in life experiences is art in my eyes. anyone trying to loudly convince u otherwise should be immediately distrusted

i think one big factor (among many) as to why AI has had such a foothold in coding spaces is because the majority of people dont consider programming to be art

ohhhh thats why that decomp was constantly crashing on stream and had constant disclaimers that experimental features like save states were unstable that u had to consent to understanding that it could ruin ur game. it all makes so much sense now.
