Proceed with caution folks! Richie Torres is a CorpoDem creature of the most egregious type. Lots of corporate money. Lots of blackrock and J.P. Morgan types openly sponsor this dude. If he’s drafting a bill, it’s strongly advised to read the fine print.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you’re under absolutely no obligation to justify yourself to anyone if you choose to spend the entire weekend reading a good book, making multiple cups of tea, and indulging in a scandalous amount of cinnamon rolls.

So I guess I’m cancelling my membership of what was supposed to be my union. GenAI is built on the back of your members’ lifetime works, and on the works of our illustrator and actor colleagues, that have been STOLEN. There is no ethical use of that. Your stance is utterly craven.

you can't be serious. This reads Meta/Facebook/Insta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - if a company after Oct 30, 2026 uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5

This isn't just when you post your content on Meta. These new terms reach outside its walled gardens to any websites "associated with your products." Potentially powering its AI empire, including Muse, without licensing deals. And if you keep using its services, Meta claims you consented. wth. 2/5

Excellent reporting by @niemanlab.org making ALL aware. Meta claims it's simply consolidating existing terms and this won't change its crawling. Then why is Meta demanding sweeping permissions in a binding contract? Why explicitly authorize AI training? 3/5 www.niemanlab.org/2026/10/meta...

Note, Meta faces publishers' lawsuits alleging it torrented pirated books from shadow libraries to train its AI. Trial date was set just yesterday for May 3, 2027. Meta looks to now be trying to write sweeping website scraping rights into its terms. Quite a coincidence. Or a wake-up call, all. 4/5

We've seen this movie. @propublica.org once documented Facebook repeatedly saying its tracking data wasn't used commercially. Until it was. Now Meta says these terms won't change its behavior. We're supposed to trust that over the words it wrote into terms? No. 5/5 www.propublica.org/article/its-...

In fact it feels more rebellious to work in commercial art now than to be a Banksy avant garde artist. Art exsisting to protest is now more common than art made to sell oreo cookies.

OUTLOOK (2025) Acrylic on Canvas - 12” x 9”

All of my Lumen paintings feature a figure struggling to reach the light, against seemingly overwhelming travails. In OUTLOOK we see the moment of breakthrough and discovery, a daunting obstacle overcome. #art
A boy rests on a ledge to peer out an open panel in a huge concrete facade that is divided into recessed rectangles. At the intersection of the concrete support beams, the cross braces rust over. Each rectangle on the wall contains a different shape (circle, hexagon, 8-pointed star) sealed and closing off the view outside. Below the boy, a panel tumbles down as he props his hand on the rusted metal frame. Beyond is blue-gray sky.
