I don't even know how to start this post. I'm sitting here crying as I type this.

On Monday June 1st, my fiancé's dad urged me to call 911 because his mom stopped breathing. I did. I tried to hold it together in that moment because someone had to. But I haven't been okay since.

She was only in at-home hospice for a few days. It happened so fast. Firefighters and EMS showed up, then a police officer, then hospice. We waited hours more for the people to come and take her. I just kept standing in the kitchen or sitting in a chair with everything that had just happened. It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life.

And now I'm reliving the grief of losing my own mom back in 2020, all over again. Grief doesn't stack neatly. It collides. And right now I feel like I'm being crushed under the weight of both.

His mom, Patty, was an incredible woman. She was the rock of their family. She fought an aggressive cancer far longer than anyone knew, never complained, never wanted to be a burden. Even on her last day, she was still cracking jokes and saying sorry for needing help. We donated her body to United Tissue Network so that even in death, she might help someone else live. That's who she was.

But her passing has left us completely devastated both emotionally AND financially. She was helping keep things afloat before her cancer took over. Now we are scrambling to cover rent, utilities, and basic bills while we are barely

But we still have to figure out how to survive.

I hate asking. I genuinely hate it. But I'm at my wit's end and I have nowhere else to turn.

We really need help. My fiancé’s mom, who we care for, has a large mass between her lungs and her left lung collapsed. She needs another bronchoscopy. We were turned away from a PCP over insurance confusion. We’re struggling with living and medical costs. Even sharing helps. ❤️ ko-fi.com/bixbyte

This is a really good point that I had not run into before: these "creators" have no further insight into their alleged creation than the average audience member and that is why it cannot be called art (besides all the other obvious reasons).
