Democrat Troy Jackson and Republican incumbent Susan Collins remain in a statistical tie for Maine's U.S. Senate seat, largely unchanged since July. In the races for Congress, Democrat Matthew Dunlap ...

Good god, that timeline would have sucked. GOP would probably have 55-57 seats in the Senate, Gaetz would have probably been AG, lots of way more horrible additions to the Big Ugly Bill, more of Project 2025 going into effect. Harris spared us from a lot.

Excellent point by @chicyph80.bsky.social. This is why we need to try to win both of those gov races and do some damage to the GOP majorities in those state legislatures.

As of time of Qting, every comment on this is negative or dooming, and it just goes to show how few people remember that a Democrat even being tied in a Texas Senate race just a year ago would have been considered an obvious outlier. It's a tossup now.

Time for a thought experiment. Since it's an internal, let's penalize Dems to the maximum extent possible within the poll's margin of error (about 9 points). So, Talarico is down 3 in the district. If Trump won the district by 10 and Texas by 14, then Talarico is ahead by 1 in TX. Exciting!

Everyone was focused on the D vs. D in last night's Massachusetts primary, but something else I've noticed is the D vs. R turnout. It's not apples-to-apples, but turnout in last night's Dem Senate primary was 881,063, and the GOP gov primary was 253,468. Harris won Massachusetts 61-36. 😬

The fundamentals are simply not favorable for Rogers: he failed to win Michigan even as Trump was carrying the state, and the national environment is going to be several points bluer this year. Couple that with polling that's moving modestly in AES's direction, and I think we're at Lean D.

This is Elise Stefanik's old seat. Huge swings in upstate New York have precedence - Anthony Brindisi knocked off Claudia Tenney in 2018 (Trump +15 district). In an open seat, in a year when it's possible we have a better environment than 2018, I'd say it's doable. www.politico.com/news/2026/06...

Juneteenth and Pride celebrate two objectively good things: slavery is outlawed and consenting adults can openly love who they want to. Anybody who is opposed to one or both of those things does not deserve to be happy.

This framing that "Democrats still haven't won back the Latino vote" is either ignorant or dishonest. Even if undecideds break 2:1 for the GOP, Dems are at 60% of Latinos. Split them 50/50, they're at 63%. And if Dems win undecideds 2:1, they're at 66%. And the opposition usually wins undecideds.

1. Having the popular former governor Phil Bredesen at the top of the ticket, which will not be the case this year, was a huge part of this 2018 Dem overperformance; 2. OTOH, we didn’t have a GOP trifecta presiding over a collapsing economy that year, so who knows?
