I keep checking on Don Costello. He wasn't my favorite teacher (that's Vinod), but he was the one I learned about 9/11 from. And it was the most empathetic version of him I ever saw. I didn't know what had happened yet, and he was like "I think they should close the school for today".

I've mentioned it before, but "Vinod" in NEON STRUCT was a reference to my favorite comp sci professor. His classes set me on a path to my love of data structure and algorithms.

Absolutely. I grew up in a pretty insular Christian environment, where it felt kind of forbidden to even know much about other religions. I feel like I've become a better person by learning about Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism, and Buddhism.

I do believe in some higher power. Call it God, Allah, or whatever, but there is *something*. But there's a certain brand of Christians who think that if you're Jewish or Muslim or whatever or even the "wrong type of Christian", you're *wrong*. And I can't stand that. We're all on our own paths.

I still consider myself a Christian, but I don't know if most Christians would consider me a Christian. And, the way Christianity is shaped in the US, I'm pretty okay with that. I don't believe there is one true religion. I think my path is merely *my* path.

Going off on a tangent here... I think "heaven" and "hell" are just how you are remembered for what you do in this life.
