So, mea culpa, I continued using Claude Code in my personal projects because I felt I needed to understand more about how it worked. Anyway, I beat the final boss of genAI when I got it to tell me I should unsubscribe.

Well f***, I hate everything about genAI, but also I just spent 6 hours using Claude Code to build a tool that I've wanted for literally two decades but always felt was way too overscoped for its value.

Loom Config Editor tool that I built tonight using Claude Code because I'm a horrible person with no morals.

Not gonna name names but it is interesting to see a certain big developer who has typically prioritized good user interfaces switch to just doing command line interfaces for a new tool, and I have to assume it is because CLIs play nice with agentic AI.

They're putting the bots first.

Might also be why the same certain big developer is switching from a very popular visual scripting language back to a text-based one. If you catch my drift.

I got another handful of powers and perks done today, wrapping up the last of them (minus all the missing VFX and SFX). The Cloak and Hypnotize powers are returning from Eldritch 1, and the new Camouflage and Con Artist perks provide minor versions of the same that can be paired with other powers.

Just read it again and like MAN I didn't entirely get this story when I was an innocent 17 year old kid, but it made me feel something, and now I'm 42 and I have been those characters. Incredible writing.

I don't have much of a background in art, but back in college, Giovanni Battista Piranesi's "Carceri" series of etchings hit me in a way that no other visual art ever had. And a decade later, I used it as a sort of concept art for the procedural levels in Eldritch. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carceri...
