With the demise of both ADS and Polyglot, does anyone know of any functioning, supported VSCode extension that can bundle PowerShell and T-SQL in a Jupyter notebook?

If you're getting these, I won't judge. But I will ask if you're ok.

A database I'm working on uses SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE for some unknown reason, and it is absolutely destroying my T-SQL compositional muscle memory.

The github bot just recommended WITH (NOLOCK) on a PR. I wish it had feelings, so that I could hurt them.

Two months. In case anyone cares, it took me two months of using the preinstalled Windows 11 on my new gaming PC before I wiped it and installed Windows 10. Man, I wish EAC worked for iRacing on Linux...

Found a NOLOCK hint in an audit trigger. Thanks, mystery developer, I needed a laugh.

My representative, @carson.house.gov, was one of the 344 members of the House who voted to table an impeachment resolution yesterday. I hope this comes back to bite every last one of them.

Yes, measuring the productivity of your software engineers by the number of PRs per engineer is totally a good indicator of productivity and not at all something that we would then gamify at the cost of making our actual productivity less optimal.

Talking to someone who still uses that other platform. He hates it, but he must because that's where college recruiters are scouting his players. This seems indicative of where the conversion movement is currently at.

1/4 One irony of SignalGate centers on the tech itself. It's been broadcast that the Pentagon announced a "vulnerability" of Signal on March 18th (see www.npr.org/2025/03/25/n...). As an end-to-end encrypted platform, the actual vulnerability isn't in the platform itself, but in the "ends" of it.

npr.org

Days after the Signal leak, the Pentagon warned the app was the target of hackers

A Pentagon-wide advisory that went out one week ago warned against using Signal, the messaging app, even for unclassified information.

I guess techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/azuresq... makes sense, but I see two issues: 1) Having to switch to relying on a 3p extension in VSCode for SQL Jupyter notebooks. 2) Getting SQL people to take a "repo-first" mentality is not helped by this. They will revert to SSMS, not VSCode.

Hey #sqlfamily, what was that _ONE_ thing you got from #PASSDataSummit this week? Now that I've had one good night's sleep, I wanna find out what I might've overlooked.
