Yeah, I liked their sense of openness and adventure, coupled with a love for the past. It's important that kids have places where they can just be kids (and do things like play soccer in the hallway of a train), as those are the memories that will last a lifetime.

My guess is that he'd be a regular caller on late night radio talk shows, offering up his wisdom and insights on a range of subjects from the JFK assassination to low-flow shower heads to Mr Peanut being "too woke" while he sits on the toilet waiting for his bowels to move.

It's a routine as old as time, and perfected by pickpockets. Someone creates a distraction, the pickpocket snags the goods from the distracted mark, then immediately hands them off to the third member of the team. (And don't ask me how I know this.)

That must be why they went to the SEARS portrait studio. That photographer has some kind of special filter that makes people look thinner. Can't wait to see her boudoir photos!

Apparently the televised execution will take place in December. I just hope they don't force viewers to choose, by scheduling it opposite "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

I have a lot of issues with Sobey's, but here's one that might not be as common, which has to do with them no longer running ads in the local newspaper. Community papers are a lifeline, and are dependent on advertising. Just one more reason to take my business elsewhere.

Again, they looked south—not east—for their role models. The shoot 'em up cowboy, the rancher, the outlaw, the wildcatter. And country music provided the soundtrack.

There is a type of bravado and swagger that can come with wealth, and many look to the US (especially Texas) as their role models. This made them especially ripe for US meddling, and that whole "Don't Tread on Me" chip-on-shoulder belligerent martyrdom.

I'll be diplomatic here, and just say "They are part of the rich tapestry that makes up Canada." Seriously, AB has lots going for it, and lots to contribute. Unfortunately, some long-standing grievances are being exploited and amplified by politicians and foreign actors.

Being an economist by training, Carney understands finance on a much deeper level and how small moves can yield great dividends. Plus, because he's not starved for attention, he has no need to broadcast every move, especially if it might wake the sleeping giant.
