If only this were true, The argument was over a message of support for Ukraine which does not require unanimity. A joint statement cam be attached as an annexe to a resolution to which all have agreed. This ONLY applies to statements without legally binding commitments.

Ca. 15.000 (my estimate) gathered in Bucharest to support democratic values, proclaim Romania's place in Europe, and reject Russia and fascism. The European anthem "Ode to Joy" was sung as was the Romanian one. The crowd formed a heart for Europe with blue and white sheets lit by mobile phones

In Scotland, you are right. I spent most of her time as FM in other European countries where people saw her as Scotland and voice of the nation, far more than say, Puidgemont in Catalunya. Had she sought European support for UDI, it might well have been present as it was not for the Catalans.

Poorly researched piece on Bobby Cruickshank from BBC Scotland on website today - totally ignores how he came to be in Edinburgh, the friendship formed there with Tommy Armour (who did win more than he did in USA) which lasted a lifetime and saving Tommy's brother's life in WWI.

Don't believe every stupid “quote” on the net, Arendt never said this. She thought empathy impossible and attempts at it prevented critical thinking. She was criticised herself as devoid of empathy, largely because of her book, “Eichmann in Jerusalem”. That aside, Musk is undoubtedly an arsehole.

She was a scriptwriter, a breed which tends to and wants to stay in the background while her husband was front of camera. Four months after the invasion, her husband asks her to go to USA to address a joint session of Congress which she did with aplomb. That alone was a tremendous act of courage.
