also just in general: the character writing in Dressmaker is excellent. it gives you an immediate sense of who these ladies are and what their lives are like when they're not in your shop, and it really motivates you to make choices you might not if it were just "make whatever dress you want"

a cute floral gown with Juliet sleeves and silk flowers on the bodice
