Final destination: Glengarnock Castle. Had it get off my bike and push it up 0.5km of boggy farm track, which was pretty brutal in the heat.

Scottish Train Stations of the Post Apocalypse. A tunnel up to the long gone Kilbarchan Railway Station. Now a cycle path connecting to NC7.
A tunnel up to the platform of the long ago demolished Kilbarchan Railway Station. It looks like something out of a post apocalyptic movie. It is now used to access the NC7 cycle route.

A couple of days ago I took a bike ride up to the ruins of Glengarnock Castle. Most of the way is on NC7. Dotted along the Cycle route are works of art, small landmarks along the way. Mostly they have something to do with cycling, then there is this:
Modern art. Brightly painted in multicolour pastels. Several meters in height it is a spiky tower like structure made from wooden beams and and steel brackets.

I found this to be a really relaxing watch, the way the weather systems flow and the clouds form like fractals. #film #climate 'Water World' is created by Seán Doran using data from GOES16 weather satellite & a remix of 'Journey To The Sun' by Stellardrone www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTnJ...

Paul Klee : Calm Sea at Z, 1925 Watercolor, gouache, and pen on paper laid down on cardboard 52.5 x 41.5 cm | 20-2/3 x 16-1/3 in Further description in the alt text 👇
The "Z" in the Title:
Like many of Klee's titles, "Z" adds a touch of mystery or arbitrary notation rather than a direct geographic reference, playing into the artist's poetic naming conventions.

Color Palette:
Dominated by soothing, calm tones, balancing the striking warmth of the sun with the deep, cooling blues and greys of the sea.

Compositional Elements:
Klee employs his signature simplified linework, dividing the space into distinct horizontal bands (sky, water, and horizon) punctuated by the dynamic triangular shape of the boat.

Not much information about this film I'm reviewing in English. So I've been using Vivaldi's translate on French pages. Maigret as you know smokes a pipe. Every time the phrase "Pipe au bec" ends up as "Blowjob in the mouth" Who trains these AIs? 12 year old schoolboys? #filmsky #AI

You want to see a Wonder of the World and all you find is a category B listed building. Yesterdays ride to Loch Lomond came to a halt in Alexandria. I didn't have the light or the bike lights to make it back home if i didn't turn around. The library is by the less famous Thomson (not Greek).
The Gilmour Institute for Men (opened 1884), a Free Classical building designed by Robert Thomson now used as a library. Red sandstone, large rectangular windows, Greek temple styling.

It was nice yesterday so I decided to cycle out to Loch Lomond. I didn't make it partly because I spent too long faffing about in a little nature reserve that I found. The Saltings goes from just under the Erskine Bridge to Bowling. Good views down the Clyde.
A view down the Clyde taken from a small nature reserve (The Saltings) on the north side.

I was looking for a better map than google. On mapy.com I found a ruined church near me that I didn't know about. Its not on any other map. So I cycled out to investigate and take some photos. Heavy fencing, barbed wire, high voltage warnings! Why are they keeping me out? What are they keeping IN?
Side view of part of All Hallows Church (Inchinnan). Ruined and surrounded by heavy fencing and barbed wire. DANGER OF DEATH High Voltage warning sign on fence.

The cycle/active-travel path under Renfrew Rd ( #paisley ) to Gallowhill Rd. is finally open. Opening up the old railway and getting things joined up has been a long time coming. Landscaping will happen when the weather gets warmer. I can now get to LIDL almost traffic free.😀 #bikesky

Cars have got too big 10am: looking out my window traffic is backed up all the way to the town centre. I look on google maps it's backed up all the way to the M8. Big chunks of the M8 are dark red. I never used to see it like this.

I just reviewed Werner Herzog's Nosferatu The Vampyre, the film and 4K disc. I never liked the film much when I first saw it, as a teenager, but now knowing more about Klaus Kinski and Herzog's mistreatment of animals I like it even less. I can't separate art from the artist. #filmsky

This has what is called a THEME TUNE!. When I review old things I like to do a little bit of research so that I can get the context right. It turns out that there is not much information on police corruption in 1970s London. It's almost like there has been a cover up. #tvseries #filmsky

Took a wee bicycle trip out to Dunoon and then Puck's Glen yesterday. Didn't quite go according to plan. I left my camera bag behind so had to race back from near Kilmacolm. Fortunately it was on the couch not the front step. To make up lost time I jumped a train to Gourock. #cycling #outdoors
