*whispers* hoping there won't be many mistakes anyway. 👀🥴

#WhiskerWednesday doesn't have to be just cats. Picking up my dragons today. I'll work w/pencil and accent w/makeup. I'm not experienced with pencil, but that decision helped me "see" it done. It's for me, so mistakes are no big. #art #pencil #sketch #sketching #artinprocess #bskyart @bsky.art

Gerrymandering takes into account voting patterns. Get enough people who aren't voting to vote and it can be overcome. My point was no matter if it looks like we'd all prefer the abyss, other factors are in play. If gerrymandering worked every time, we wouldn't have red states going blue now.

000

Not really. A big problem is gerrymandering, which can make it look that way. It doesn't help that the Republican party is off the rails. The other big problem is all the people who have been convinced their vote doesn't count so don't vote.

What's been going on in the U.S. education system has nothing to do with teachers, and blaming the system isn't blaming teachers. I subbed for years; most teachers were frustrated as well. You all do the best you can. The noticeable changes in education level of our kids has nothing to do with you.

This is on the anti-vaxers, a shitty education system, and idiots thinking a couple of hours of Google searching (if even that long) beats out decades in virilogy.

Yes. Vaccines cause autism and injury, didn't you know. 🙄

Sad it took an outbreak for people to start vaccinating again.

Which is where I started. My mother was an artist. I loved reading, and I tell myself stories to go to sleep, but art is where the creativity really started. So I've come full circle, but with more confidence. I love writing, but art has always been my soul. And nothing beats the visual progress.

Somehow I'm in a writers starter pack. I'm boggled. I have a few published shorts and a novel that got close (contract was SO bad I declined), but I don't write as much now. I don't have it in me to do the work for publication. One day maybe I'll get back for the love of it. For now I have my art.

Bobwhite Quail feather Missed #FeatherFriday (was a bit out of it), so did one tonight. I think I may need to revisit it some day. The individual barbs came out so sloppy. #art #pencil #sketch #sketching #finishedartproject #artgallery #domysoriginals #bskyart @bsky.art

Crashed out EARLY last night, woke in the middle of the night. Decided to work on art. Instead of in her basket, my art assistant is sleeping on the job nearby. #superherokitteh #xkitty #catsofgeorgia #sirynkitteh #wildchildkitteh #artcat #artassistant #cat #cats #catsky #caturday #catsofbluesky

Thank you! It was a real challenge on figuring out the various levels of shading. I think the Pygmy Owl is going to be challenging too. 👀

Not reading as much lately: the nonfiction only makes the current dystopian hellscape harder to deal with, and the fiction isn't hitting the spot. Hopefully this will help. #books #bookworm #booksky #reader #reading #currentlyreading #currentread #literature #booklist #fiction #fantasy #tobyday
