My personal opinion is fucking off scores altogether, but I've also been around long enough to see what that does to traffic and publishers. I think MC is a cancer but is also ingrained, now, and the only correction is to rethink the 'scale ' to weigh out the bottom end as much as the top

I actually started writing with a 4/5 in mind, but as I thought about it and got it into words I figured it out more. I'm still playing after submitting copy, but I'm so torn on whether I'm enjoying it or I just want to BEST IT. I *think* I'm having fun, but sometimes I'm like 'ehh'. Peak 3/5. Good!

Spent the past week reading lots of this. Highlights are: experimenting with player- and worker-owned studio structures (more to come), Ted Chiang's contributions (!), and the sumptuous art. Such a well put-together package. Lots of care. A statement of intent.

I already boycott the vast majority of fast food places, online retailers, music services, banking services, and so much other stuff. Now I learn the dating apps I use are endangering lives with reckless AI policies, too? I can't even fuck and flirt without AI getting in the mix?! Everything sucks!

Grindr is training its AI on your photos, your age, and your taps by default, without asking. This video shows where the app buried the off switch. The stakes are high on an app like Grindr. Numerous countries criminalize same-sex relations, so being outed through your data can be dangerous.
