What is direct democracy, essentially? For us in Switzerland, it means very frequent voting: ≈9 federal ballot measures per year, plus a large volume of cantonal and local votes. But it also means a practical challenge: who can open the voting envelope without tearing it apart? Always a tricky one

I have a /techdebt skill that removes most of the "AI smells" like these verbose comments, defensive overkill, style inconsistencies, etc. I can only recommend running something like this as part of your review process. It really helps in my experience.

I increasingly think that little games like this and @pudding.cool style visual essays are the best ways of informing the public about issues in a way that doesn't feel abstract anymore. The board game “Daybreak” also does this very well regarding climate change.

Ooh, any favorites yet? What really helped me was to just make a list of the three phones/brands that were in question and then picking one from the list (compared to the gazillion phones that are available). For me, those three were Google, Nothing and Fairphone. Maybe that helps ;)

After thinking about this question all weekend, I think my favorite candidate is the alchemical symbol for air: 🜁 It’s connotes both atmosphere and “transfer”. It’s a standard Unicode character. It references a capital “A.” And it’s very simple, which feels appropriate for a protocol, like 🌐 or 🛜.
