Do I know anyone else who uses Samply? Just signed up for a 7 day trial of the premium...tempted to keep it as a cloud-based player for music/podcasts that isn't on streaming. £60 a year seems a reasonable price for that.

Not sure I agree - live is the best experience, sure, but the recorded version of an Edinburgh show honed through a month of performances/later tour is like seeing a band live vs listening to an album; the jokes hit you more fully in the brain than just in the gut, you know?

Oh man I had one of these, don’t think I managed to pull off a single one of the tricks but I loved it. Saw him & Debbie perform in a tiny theatre a few years ago and they were amazing, even if he did try to cut my head off with a guillotine.

Ooh, I’ll check that out. I was meant to open for Glitterer in Bristol back in 2024 but had to bail as our baby was born 5 weeks premature and I wouldn’t have known which way to hold a guitar at that point, let alone play a show!

The Adrian Chiles column title thing doesn’t work on my phone, otherwise I’d have posted one of those. They definitely taste the same as Kellogg’s Corn Flakes these days. I remember them tasting like stale paper when I was growing up.

Back from a week away in Dorset, where I somehow managed to get sunburned. In October. Mad. Also very nearly ended up having the holiday ruined by the car breaking down, but managed to work out how to fix it myself from watching Green Flag diagnose the problem. ONE HUNDRED DAD POINTS TO ME.
