Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 21hSeriously, you have to get it notarized? How many people have easy access to a notary? Isn't that kinda like a poll tax? 030
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 21hI'm in Colorado and was notified by text message yesterday that my ballot was mailed to me. I will get another text message when they receive my completed ballot back, and again when it is counted. Yes, at least here in Boulder County, we get personal notifications (if we sign up for them.) 110
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 02/10/2026Bandcamp Friday is tomorrow, October 2, 2026. Support your favorite indie artists any time by downloading from Bandcamp, and they get 80-85% of what you pay. Even better if you do it on that day, as the artist gets almost all of it. Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 25/09/2026Corn on the cob must be eaten in complete rows. Preferably rows of 4 kernels wide. I've discovered that corn always has an even number of rows. 1120

Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 21/09/2026Snipers at a cemetery? But aren't those losers already dead? 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 21/09/2026I don't think canceling Senators is a thing. (See, e.g., Mitch McConnell). As much as Sen Potato Town wants to play the victim, he constitutionally can't be canceled unless he gets voted out. So stop being such a whiny baby. I know it works for the mafia Don, but that's a special case. 001
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 18/09/2026"Radically flip"? Is that different than "flip"? And is "apparent outcome" the same as "non-final vote count"? Jeez, I hope the Dems figure out how to impeach him. The vote is over when local officials certify it according to local rules. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 18/09/2026They're gonna allow dogs to vote, but they have to prove they're citizens. Just not anchor puppies. (Sorry) 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 18/09/2026A climate change denier on another social media platform told me he really wants a Rivian. Debating science is not going to make a dent, but maybe, just maybe, the fact that climate friendly works out better will save us. 150
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 18/09/2026The tooth fairy has a trade deficit with your daughter. It's simple economics. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 18/09/2026Congress can impeach him, or any other officers of the US, for whatever the hell they want. They are the only ones who define "high crimes and misdemeanors", and nobody can reverse their decision. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 18/09/2026I don't want to stop his agenda. I want to totally reverse it, as if it never happened. Roll the clock back to Jan 19, 2025. Do over. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 18/09/2026He thought they were food desserts and he loves bananas flambe. It's like burning money. 060
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 14/09/2026I look at carbon removal the same way I look at carbon offsets: an excuse to not take responsibility for our actions. If you're gonna contribute to the destruction of human society, own up to it. Don't pay someone else to make up for your sins, and don't expect your heirs invent a magic solution. 020
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 14/09/2026The thing to notice is that he started to use the term "fake news" when people started accusing him of lying. The best way to deflect when someone points out your crimes is by accusing others of those same crimes, taking away the power of those words. 010
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 14/09/2026Ha, when you read that story, The Verge is collecting personal info about you which it then sells. There's no escape from this madness in our modern society. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 14/09/2026I'd be happy to see Elon and his doge crew pack up and go to Mars. They can have it. The rest of us will stay and clean up the mess if we can. 020
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 13/09/2026But do you remember 8 inch floppies? Yeah, I'm old. Plus, they actually were floppy. 110
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 13/09/2026Exactly. We have successfully brought an end to the stable climate that enabled human civilization to develop, but we now have technology that will allow us to stumble into whatever new climate evolves. It won't be pretty, and many of the other residents of this planet will do much worse. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 13/09/2026Good for you, we need more people with a conscience. Me, I'm building a net zero bunker that will survive most anything the planet throws at us, because I don't see anything else I can do to make a difference. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 07/09/2026Just don't pay any attention to what's going on in the Pacific. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 07/09/2026Wait until he finds what language the name of my state (Colorado) is in. 101
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 07/09/2026Only in the mind of the person making the "joke". A "successful joke" has to make people laugh, but a "stupid joke" makes people groan or roll their eyes, an "esoteric joke" makes people wonder if you're sane, a "political joke" makes people laugh or angry depending on whether they agree with you. 100
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 07/09/2026Donald Trump uses them, and he is definitely a dope. So, yeah, guess so. 210
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 04/09/2026Don't forget the number of days that the so-called president is off playing golf and other non-work-related activities. 010

Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 04/09/2026Likely has to wait until the DOJ is wrestled out of the control of that criminal. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 04/09/2026The UN has finally admitted that carbon removal is our only hope. I can't imagine doing it at any scale that makes a difference, but since it's our only hope I guess we have to try. Funny, messing with the chemistry of the entire planet is more feasible than a minor change to human nature. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 04/09/2026Yup. Here (in Colorado), you can vote any way you want to. I never trust the mail, so I always take my ballot to a drop box. I get a text message when they mail my ballot to me, when they receive mine in return, and when the signature is verified and it's counted. Too important to trust but verify. 030
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 04/09/2026I guess one benefit of the Super Duper Pooper Stupor El Niño, but I wouldn't want to appear too smug to those of our friends in or near the Pacific, which currently has three (!!) active hurricanes. 010
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 04/09/2026I predict an uptick in sales for glasses, hats, etc., with IR emitters or reflectors that will blind these facial recognition systems. I was going to invent one, but I found out they already exist. 000
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 04/09/2026This quote: "Now overshoot scenarios require us to stop the train quickly and to back it up. Is it our best hope? Absolutely. Is it likely? Absolutely not." Unfortunately, it's not technology in the way. It's human nature, which we can't change. 010
Doctor Rubato @doctorrubato.com · 04/09/2026According to one particularly insightful scientist quoted in this article, this "represents a worrying snapshot of a very different Arctic Ocean than only a few decades ago and one that is quickly changing over time." Thanks for keeping us informed! 130
