My leather jacket had pockets. So I was holding the passports of two friends. Both did a runner when things escalated after the crash... and when the police arrived, it looked suspiciously like I was dealing UK passports.

I like it. In the eighties. Going to underground parties as a teenager in Communist era was exciting. But that time is gone. Their ski resorts are basic and cheap. Sofia is modernising, but rural Bulgaria is still "rustic". I like Balkan directness. Good people are good, but many are corrupt.

The passport were entirely legal. The money would have been under free market capitalism, but it turns out that under communism it was very not legal. I was invited to leave their country immediately, my passport was stamped with an invitation for me never to return.

The Monument House of the Bulgarian Communist Party, constructed in the 1970s to commemorate the formation of the Party. Is was allowed to lapse into ruin after the fall of communism, and the metal roof was looted. I urbexed it in late 2017 - just weeks later it was sealed off and restoration began.

The main hall of the Buzludzha Monument, the roof is destroyed and the hall is open tot he mountain elements.

Inside the saucer of the Buzludzha Monument, the huge windows are now smashed and from their empty concrete frames you can see the surrounding mountains.

You can't drive to Zermatt anymore. It's totally car free. They have turned all of Täsch into a huge car park, and there's a free (the train, I think - the car parking is Swiss priced) train up from there.

In spring, I posted that if the water was low enough by autumn I would paddleboard round the island and take a photograph of the “underwater” part of the Goldsworthy. Ladies and gentlemen: the underwater part of the Goldsworthy. I came by bike.

Part of the conceit of Mur Spirale is that half of it is permanently hidden underwater. There is a part on land that mirrors this..
Right now, all of it is 10 m above water.

Today’s mission was to try and find a way to cycle to the island. Mission accomplished within five minutes of arriving at the lake. Typically, it’s impossible to e-foil under either of these bridges.

The first of the two bridges onto the Ile de Vassivière is the shallower passage and now is completely devoid of water.

The second bridge is deeper and I was surprised to find that there is a narrow strip of land that enabled me to Cycle to the island

Only seen them once in the States. Boston in 2011. A few times in France since I moved here. They are a bit hit and miss these days. 50 years of smoking has not been great to Mac’s voice. New album is good.

There is an eminent logic to that. I typically shake it then lay it on top of the rubber gloves, bristles up, under t'sink. Works great. I think the French could learn a lot from me.

I has only been to the Hong Kong. But I hoped to visit Xian when I finally explore more of China, which is why I thought (but was proven wrong) I knew where it was. It is souther and wester than I thought. I shall try to remember for next time.
