Dr Joseph Millum reflects on “what are values?” And introduces us to “thick concepts”, which are both evaluative (e.g. good, bad, right, wrong) and descriptive. Given what we know about the inadequacies & limitations of medical research… I would argue that “evidence-based” is also a “thick concept?

Having bought the US election, Musk now wants to buy ours. This ketamine-infused menace thinks global domination is his to buy. And Farage is grasping for his money. These repulsive men weaponise prejudice for power. They feed off ignorance, resentment and inadequacy. If they succeed, we have failed.
From The Sunday Times:

Will Elon Musk give Nigel Farage $100m to make him PM?

The Tesla boss who used his immense fortune to help Donald Trump’s campaign is turning his attention to Britain.

Labour and Tory supporters will hope this is fake news.

Elon Musk has already declared war on Keir Starmer and last week suggested that Nigel Farage’s Reform party would be the next government. This weekend, leading businessmen and Conservative Party officials believe there is a credible prospect that Musk is preparing to give $100 million to Farage as a “f*** you Starmer payment” with a view to transforming British politics.
