one way to think about dev infrastructure is: * smaller scale than typical large systems * distributed systems where some of the event sources are extremely diverse and chaotic (you and me) * required to be extremely rigorous, often due to law * intersects with challenging UX problems

It's interesting that a lot of these LLM coding tools lean heavily in to an 8-bit NES aesthetic for the fonts on their website.

I wanna talk to other marginalised/underrepresented folks in tech who are in leadership positions (either by role, responsibilities or simply because you got to) about the shit we have to deal with day after day.
Is there already a community like that out there?

Good guess! Doing a crazy project attempting to use buck2 and nix to make building the runtimes + browsers we build a bit more sane. Clang is the default toolchain for buck2, so I wanted to see how hard it would be to use that for everything since we already use it for macOS. It's hard haha

ugh yeah in this case it was the difference between how clang and gcc handle inline assembly 🥴

Learning nix is really bringing me back to my early days of learning computers: blindly copy pasting things with no knowledge of how things work, then trying to fill in the blanks when I get an error message.
