Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 18/11/2024This book is absolutely fantastic. Maybe my favorite natural history book ever. The Tiger by John Vaillant is also amazing and set in the same part of the world. Different vibes (more like a thriller) but also great 010
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 17/11/2024That's awesome!! I'm setting that up right now. Do you play Birdie also? It's wordle-ish but uses pieces of pictures of a bird. It's fun and frustrating in a good way. birdiegame.netbirdiegame.netbirdieA daily bird species identification game quiz for birders, birdwatchers, bird lovers, and bird enthusiasts. Similar to wordle, birdie is a daily birding ID quiz based on small crops of each bird and s... 110
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 17/11/2024What is this ebird quiz??!!?? I assume that's different than birdie? 100

Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 16/11/2024There's a feed for film-- filmisnotdead if you want to post there. Lots of good stuff on there. Also, that's a great picture of a great blue heron with a TLR!! 110
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 06/11/2024It was definitely more annoying than black and white with the temperature requirements, but the results were pretty good! 000
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 06/11/2024 My first self developed roll of color film! Definitely some minor issues, but I think more related to me underexposing on my Minox 35. Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 05/11/2024 I feel this so hard.... It's such a weird mix of relaxing and stressful. And do you think you did fixer first on the b&w roll? So far I've just accidentally dumped my fixer out instead of returning it to the bottle. Well, that and a ton of water marks 😂 100
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 02/11/2024This is on my to-do list this year. I'll probably tuck my Minox 35 into a running vest pocket at some point, but it really does seem a little heavy 😬 110
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 01/11/2024Not just you! The manual tells you to put it in A mode to check the battery. I also confirmed it doesn't work with mine when the shutter is locked. 010
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 01/11/2024I have one of those two that I just picked up last month. It takes amazing photos! 310

Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 27/10/2024Nice birds! Love the picture of the Lincoln's Sparrow 110
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 26/10/2024This super cute little cat was up for adoption in a PetSmart in San Diego. Minox 35 GL on HP5+, developed in D-76. Exposed at iso 320 #believeinfilm #filmphotography #filmisnotdead #cats 161
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 24/10/2024Here's some pictures from a test roll of HP5+ shot on a Minox 35 G, exposed at 320, D-76. Not sure how I feel about them, but the GT is more fun than the GL, mostly because the film advance is less cranky, and I do love a self timer. #believeinfilm #filmphotography #filmisnotdead #minox35 0120

Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 15/10/2024This movie is so heartfelt and sweet, and absolutely got me into birding. And my wife too, a few years later. Everyone we've introduced it to really enjoyed it as well. Perfect Sunday afternoon movie, and even better if you like birds! 110
Mike Ray @dmichaelray.bsky.social · 13/10/2024I just picked up a couple rolls of the catlabs 320, and their 100. Looks fun, plus, cats 😹 010
