Can we discuss the fact that a lot of the welfare budget goes to in work benefits, subsidising employers like Sainsbury’s & Tesco’s who won’t give full time contracts or truly liveable wages, but do pay high wages to CEOs & make huge profits.

Reform and proposed disability changes .. The theory of othering in plain sight. Othering strips people of their full humanity, making it easier for societies to practice exclusion, prejudice, and institutional discrimination. Stigmatising the disabled and marginalised them still further.

In other news Miss Effie the adopted ratty is back at the vets to be checked on. She’s had two operations one to re stitch her up after the very big wound split & a week of antibiotics after an infection set in . Her sister ( same op) is back in the big cage doing fine .

Where is the multi-agency support for SEND children in mainstream schools coming from ? Currently I know children with a EHCP whose parents are buying in Speech & Language Therapy (that hourly costs an eye watering amount. I’m brought in, paid for as an extra).Expertise is rare

Autistic or ADHD ? You are never going to fit in the Neurotypical box. Education strategies/ life skills that work for NT won’t work for you. You have to find the scaffolding & support that suit you. Square peg & round hole analogy. Find the strategy that works for you, use it.

Marnie our adopted per rat, a few weeks ago had a seizure, caused by the noise of a hoover. She unfortunately cut herself & got an abscess.Vets bills antibiotics. Yesterday it burst. Who thought rescuing rats was a good idea ?

I did an O level in photography. We learnt about how photography’s could be manipulated for propaganda . Even in the American Civil War Staged scenes: Photographers would arrange bodies etc Of course it was much more difficult to make & distribute. Here is a modern example

Family member had a consultant cardiologist say ‘ his patients are the experts’ because when he was at medical school some of the conditions he sees now were not even taught about or known. Many ‘hidden disabilities’ are now recognised because of the advancements of science .

If you feel you’ve failed at life when you had been given opportunities to do well you are going to be angry at other people that you perceive as being helped. Look to your own failings first. This is were ableism is rooted in a lack of self awareness.
