Watching my 1981 Media Halloween Beta and the 2007 Anchor Bay DVD side-by-side. Was surprised at a few extended scenes on the DVD. Literally just a few extra seconds here and there which makes it one minute longer than the Beta. #NowWatching

I worked at a daily paper when 9/11 happened, involved in the layout of the paper. That morning is probably the opposite of how you'd imagine a newsroom; silence. For hours everyone in Editorial gathered around small TVs watching it all unfold. The only sound was from radios on people's desks.

The remote for one of the CRTs in my collection suddenly stopped working so cleaning time. Bizarre situation where the batteries (that I shouldn't have left in) showed exactly zero signs of leaking, yet the board underneath was covered in acid. Can't figure it out, but no permanent damage.

Weather knocked out the power to our neighbourhood so the house has been running off our 20kw generator. Question: why does our power surge each time there's lightning? Were not connected to the grid and the generator isn't surging.

Buggin’ Out with #littlecaroftheday 1358, this WRX STi. I really like the early 2000s Japanese commitment to making cheerful little guys, as the Bugeye was just one of several period cars with this round, wide-eyed look. While not bad, imo the later facelifts lack much of the charm this one has.

A few years ago I had a photo session with the Mayor. When I showed up for the appointment I was denied entry to the building because security didn't believe me. I literally had to wait for the Mayor to come outside looking for me. The security guard didn't even apologize. This city is insane.

On Aug 1st my friend Laurie became the 1st Canadian woman to lift the historic Dinnie stones. I emailed our local sports writer Aug 1, who ignored me for 10 days, then asked for her contact info. By then the story had appeared internationally, and the guy STILL hasn't published a story about her.

The water pressure is supposed to spin little turbines in each electrical outlet. If water is shooting out instead you're supposed to call Air Canada and they'll send a compressor/turbine specialist. Sometimes they'll have pop-up tents inside Tim Hortons.

Due to construction on Steeles Ave W westbound, it's best to enter from the WEST SIDE of the park on Steeles Ave W eastbound from Appleby Rd. (see map). The section marked red has been under repairs and down to 1 lane sometimes... we want to avoid anyone having to sit there when entering the venue.

Hooo boy did I ever scratch the living shit out of my rear bumper! I'm so angry at myself. Went 20 years with only one minor scratch here, now it looks like a beater. Guess a paint job is in my future. 😖
