Extra trans because of crunching synchros? That'd be my guess.

DMCMarty @dmcmarty.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

I just realized I left out an important piece of information. The reason we had to import the CVT is because it wasn't offered in Canada.

DMCMarty @dmcmarty.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Not surprised. Parts are hard to come by and only die-hards keep them running. If I had to guess I'd say most are modified at this point.

FYI we imported our Insight to Canada new. My wife can't drive manual so we bought a CVT in Ohio on our way back from the 2006 Chicago DCS (DeLorean Car Show).

I was thinking the DVD was advertised "Now with 1 full minute of extra footage!"

Watching my 1981 Media Halloween Beta and the 2007 Anchor Bay DVD side-by-side. Was surprised at a few extended scenes on the DVD. Literally just a few extra seconds here and there which makes it one minute longer than the Beta. #NowWatching

Two CRTs in the dark playing 1978 Halloween. The left one is widescreen and the right one is full screen. The colours on the full screen image are faded compared to the other. The door to the room is open allowing in a crack of light.

Friends and I have talked about when we die, how none of us want our final ride in a Cadillac. We were half joking about building our own 1990s Japanese or German hearse. There are just no options.

I can't remember if I saw it in theatre. But I had a poster of it.

Spooky movies continue with Arachnophobia tonight. The closeups during the finale are fabulous. I should get this on Blu-ray. #PhysicalMedia

I worked at a daily paper when 9/11 happened, involved in the layout of the paper. That morning is probably the opposite of how you'd imagine a newsroom; silence. For hours everyone in Editorial gathered around small TVs watching it all unfold. The only sound was from radios on people's desks.

The remote for one of the CRTs in my collection suddenly stopped working so cleaning time. Bizarre situation where the batteries (that I shouldn't have left in) showed exactly zero signs of leaking, yet the board underneath was covered in acid. Can't figure it out, but no permanent damage.
