At this stage it doesn't matter to me if this guy is cosplaying. I want a person who talks like this and then promises to back it up to be the next president. If there's somebody who winds up being more convincing than him in the next year or so, I'll vote for that person instead.

AI, the kind the companies want normal people to use in their everyday lives, was invented by bad dorks who can't think about or make or do anything fun or cool or social, and they keep trying to sell it to us as a tool to outsource the doing of cool fun social things as if that's appealing.

Keep your eyes peeled for these positions being filled by those who are full send on pumping AI into collections management, exhibition curation, and marketing.
Whatever the approach, history at the Smithsonian has been the responsibility of curators, not presidents. But the Smithsonian is in a particularly vulnerable period. Bunch will retire from his post at the end of the year. Citizen members keep dropping off the Smithsonian's Board of Regents when their terms expire, and their seats are going unfilled, reportedly because the White House is trying to influence the new picks, The New York Times wrote this summer. Museum-director positions are open across the institution too-last week, the director of the National Museum of Natural History announced that he is stepping down-adding to a number of major vacancies. For a president seeking control, a power vacuum and a fraying institution could represent an opportunity.

Another misunderstanding is that sexual violence can be ended through education. There is not a single evidence-based program for perpetrators that has reduced sexual violence. What schools call an educational intervention is making perpetrators sit down to read the sexual-misconduct policy and asking if they have any questions. It’s having them write an essay. None of these things work.
