Also, policy is to not fire at a moving vehicle if the vehicle is the only thing "weaponised", for the very reason that it creates an out of control 2 ton projectile. They had no obvious identifying marker showing they were with any law and at least one of them had a fucking assault rifle.

It definitely wasn't weeks. And the reason COVID was such a problem was because people were selfish and didn't isolate themselves when contagious. We can see this during enforced isolations, where the virus spread dipped, only to rise again when isolations were ended.

This is why I will always do everything in my power to make a space feel safe. It's not just about the harassment, it's about the avoiding, and loss of experiences that comes from that. It's on us to make the spaces safe, not women.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

the horrific cornell gang rape case has me thinking about emma sulkowicz who alleged she was raped as a student at columbia in 2014 and never got any justice. it has me thinking about the physical and mental weight young women are forced to carry while their safety is subsumed by male potential.

And if the NYT wins and gets the models pulled, that sets a precedent for every other piece of work that has been stolen to train these models. AI is supposed to be profitable, but for who exactly? It’s not the fucking people who had their stuff stolen to train it, is it?
