They finish the week at a pocha bar, during which Sora cuts him off from alcohol after his first bottle of soju. “Really, he should be sober for the rest of the year,” Sora explains to the question in Hoyeon’s stare. “You should’ve seen him in Paris.”

“I don’t wanna hear anything else about Paris,” Hoyeon whines tipsily. She’s rocking in her plastic seat. “I told you it makes me feel left out!”

“Just giving context. He was a monster.” Sora polishes off Yoongi’s glass of apple soju as he looks on forlornly. “Heard he fucked a model in the bathroom.”

What the fuck? It takes him a moment to process her statement. Then, flushing from his scalp to his chest, Yoongi shoves Sora while she cackles and cowers away. “Shut up! I didn’t!”

“You didn’t fuck Marjan? Is that what you’re saying?”

“He fucked Marjan?” Hoyeon shouts.

“I didn’t fuck Marjan!” Yoongi shouts back.

“That’s not what she said?”

Marjan is telling people their business? Is she close enough friends with Sora to gossip about this kinda shit? “I—” Yoongi flounders. “What counts as fucking?!”

Sora is gasping for air now. Yoongi could pummel her. He just might.

“Wow. I didn’t know you liked younger girls!” Hoyeon says.

“I don’t.” Yoongi grabs Hoyeon’s full soju glass and backs it before anyone can stop him.

He thought—erroneously—that being understood would be a comfort, even if he resisted in the moment. In reality, it’s embarrassing to be caught out, and mildly unnerving, like a spotlight weighing him down. He realizes that he doesn’t enjoy being psychoanalyzed—not always, and not by everyone—and he hates feeling like Namjoon came to this conversation already prepared for Yoongi’s reaction; that he’d even known Yoongi would go on the defense, make aggressive snipes that Namjoon would have to side-step with a calm, placid sense of sympathy. And Yoongi, ornery and intoxicated and vulnerable, is doing nothing but falling for it.

Even worse: he’s rendered toothless by not knowing the full extent of what Namjoon does and doesn’t already know.

“At that bar in Sillim,” Namjoon is saying, “you asked me if I thought it was possible to be in love with multiple people at once.” When Yoongi doesn’t contest this, “Was there more to that question that I was missing at the time? Or am I thinking too hard into it?”

Yoongi inhales, and holds his breath. He waits four seconds. He quietly exhales for four seconds, then, “You asked me if Jin-hyung and I were okay—back when we met at Hobi’s studio. You said something about how you knew how hard it was when they’re gone a lot. Our partners.”

Namjoon hesitates. “Sure, yeah?” He may not have expected this counter, which itches at a childish part of Yoongi’s psyche.

“It’s obvious you’ve always had an idea of what’s been going on. You tell yourself that you’re an overthinker,” Yoongi laughs, “but you tend to be right. Y’know that?”
“Then I’m right that it was Taehyung-ssi? That you changed after he came around?”

He stares into the sudsy bathwater. “You’re right. You were—always. You’ve been right.”

“You’re in love with Taehyung-ssi?”

how intensely i feel the emotions of the characters when writing - mann it really depends what mood im in when writing LMFAO. tbh i write the most when im feeling really low, so i tend to experience their feelings much more that way.

i almost always figure out worldbuilding and back stories before i write them - i spend a lot of time daydreaming about fic ideas in my head before i write it, so typically ive sorted it all out by fantasizing before i sit down and start planning it out in a tangible place

there are definitely unintended motifs that show up a lot in my work lol. the most common ones have to do with reality vs. fantasy and how they inform one another, guiding a character's actions, goals, pursuits. i think we all live in both spaces - our fantasy and our interpretation of reality!!
