Are you prepared? Emergencies aren't always big. Sometimes you dig into your emergency kit when you get to the office & realize you're wearing slippers! 😱 Glad I keep spare shoes in my car, even if I have to wear hiking boots all day. Being prepared serves us every day, not just our worst days.

There she is! I finally got a chance to meet the 1700 Cascadia tsunami sand layer in person (along with several older tsunami layers). Felt a bit like meeting a celebrity, or maybe a god... a thrilling and chilling reminder of what came before and what will, inevitably, come for us again.

I had the distinct pleasure to spend World #TsunamiDay in Long Beach, WA yesterday, including a VERY windy visit to North Head Lighthouse. I visited this light so often with my parents as a child and it features in my memorial tattoo for my father. It's always an honor to be in its presence!
