omg the airport - any airport - is a sensory nightmare. there is nothing about life in 2026 that's calming. nothing you do or experience is meant to lower your blood pressure or relax you. it's just a constant assault on the senses.

today i went to pick up a rental car. sitting in the lobby, there are ringing phones, some type of corporate radio going with ads every 2 mins, people talking, and some guy sitting next to me watching youtube on his phone with the volume up. it's 10am & i'm already so overstimulated, i could cry.

no one has any consideration for others anymore. there's no thought like "hey, it's 8am, maybe i don't need to sit in my car outside my house for 30 minutes blasting my stereo and waking everyone up." i'm so fucking tired of my nervous system being at the mercy of total assholes.

i have new neighbors who move their stereo speaker out onto the porch to blast stupid mumblerap for hours at all hours of the day or night. (yes, i finally called the cops. no, it hasn't stopped.) constant lawn maintenance. yelling. loud car stereos. construction.

it happens and it's okay! no one is perfect. but everywhere i've worked there is at least one person who habitually cuts people off & talks over folks so much that it's distracting. for me, it becomes a character flaw when you won't ever let others have the floor & let them complete their thought.

i never celebrate the end of a tour, BUT i have to admit that i am so worn out from how overstimulating it is, whether i'm traveling for the shows or following it from afar online. there is SO much more i'd like to be doing with the blog/socials right now but my brain is just... toast. 😐

no two enterprise experiences are the same. sometimes i get here and the car is ready, sometimes i have to wait half an hour. sometimes they ask for my insurance info, sometimes they don't. for every helpful, kind agent i get one who leans in to talk to me like we're committing a crime.
