Woke up to a hacked website. Someone had been inside my self-hosted WordPress since late July: 52 fake admin accounts, back doors in my plugins, ads injected into visitors' pages. Cleaned up, patched, origin locked down. Lesson learned: self-hosting means you have to look. I had not, for a month...

Or the EU will force the social media giants to be decentralised and Atproto will then be the perfect standard for it.

I'm looking for a Terminal CLI and replacement for #Termius on MacOS and iPadOS. it's honestly been pretty great but the sync option to iPadOS is behind a paywall and i have a lot of hosts + i do use the SFTP function a lot. anyone got any good alternatives?

The AI summit in Barcelona was a crazy experience. So many thoughts and ideas to work on now! On top of that my Mac Mini M6 finally arrived so it’s gonna be a crazy couple of days/weeks to set it all up and start working on some of my ideas and projects 💡

This is outstanding work from our Norwegian friends. Google's consumer-facing apps and services are intensively deceptive manipulative, systematically backstabbing users after encouraging trust (the worst of course being Google Chrome). 🧵

I tried answering "How big is AT Protocol in Europe" It's still an evolving story (and data collection script), but here is my first attempt: atproto.eu/stats/ It includes a breakdown per country, growth chart, PDSes used and the apps/lexicons are most used (beyond microblogging).

atproto.eu

AT Protocol accounts across 32 European countries, each account counted once.

I’ve been using the @currents.is ios app for a while now and man, it’s the best looking & intuitive atmosphere app so far! Some bugs here and there but that’s normal, been sending the feedback :) @matteomarjanovic.com

Didier Mortier @didiermortier.eu · 14/09/2026

I have migrated some photos already to my main feed, so this is visible on the flashes app for instance. I’m just not sure I want to maintain 2 feeds of photos. I can understand Grain is more for professional looking photos and make a curated collection, I’m just thinking also long term here :)

010

Didier Mortier @didiermortier.eu · 14/09/2026

I also want to migrate my old instagram account over but I’m hesitant as @grain.social has a separate follower and following right? I know we can cross-post current photos but how can people on the atmosphere get to my Grain profile without having the app itself?
