really good comment on my new video. I get it, but at the same time, hp doesnt allow as much granularity as wounds do. its all about the states right? hp has [has hp] [has 0 hp] and with dnd 4th [has half hp] with wounds, every step is an important change [-1][-2] are entire worlds apart. #ttrpg

i haven't been able to wipe off the manic pixie dream girl stains on my soul, answer i guess this indie emo sadboy could smell it cause he kept staring at me on the train and even followed me off it for like two blocks all the way to work you can tell he was cause he wore headphones in public

grapefruit is awful. i've tried every possible conceivable way to eat it. a litttle bit of salt here, a little sugar here, smoothie-ing it, boiling it, frying it into a pancake, salad-ing it--! if you THINK you like grapefruit you DON'T, you just like the SUGAR

in my new trpg game i plan on using a mechanic ive called Depletion instead of regular cost systems. essentially, a class of abilities/resources has a dice size associated with it (say a d8). when you use the ability it succeeds so long as it doesnt roll a 1.

trpg design question: how okay is it if your main dice system and your magic system work completely differently?? currently i have a dice chain d4/d6/d8/d10/d12 thing going on, but my magic system uses a xd6 dice pools is this too big a divergence? should they be aligned/working with each other??

ive always loved meta currencies because you can see them even being used in video game rpgs bravely default and octopath traveler building up bp??? expending them for additional turns, abilities, damage, hits? gorgeous

I'm not saying it doesn't HAPPEN, but "all weird indie TTRPGs are a kink thing" is reductive. There is also "designing RPGs to publish your worldbuilding bible", "designing RPGs because you invented a neat dice trick", "designing RPGs to win an argument", and "designing RPGs as an act of self harm".

rpg where character creation is you making a sub at subway or something, where each ingredient is related to a stat the most meta option is behind the nastiest sandwhich combo you can imagine. like meatballs w/sauce, with mustard and sweet onion, and like only banana pappers and spinach or somethin
