Gems from the index of WYRD TV: Folklore, Folk Horror and British Television. I actually enjoyed writing the index for this book, with all of its dark and spooky goings-on! Tinyurl.com/wyrdtv

I took my PhD student Josiah Eden to rummage in Dr Sheldon Hall's RADIO TIMES archive today - and found some gems for my own TV research at the same time. Plus unearthed a couple of 1990s £1 HMV vouchers along the way - RICHES! Now, what to spend them on?!

I told you next week's Hookland talk at @treadwells-books.bsky.social came with stickers ...

Sheets of vinyl stickers on a drought ravaged patch of grass. The first sheet features of drawing of the Bone Horse and the words RE-ENCHANTMENT IS RESISTANCE. The second sheet features a haunted Edwardian photograph of dear skulls and the words HERNE THE HUNTER HATES YOUR RACIST BOLLOCKS. The third sheet features a rainbow circle and the words: THE NORSE GODS WERE QUEER AS FUCK.

Some places hold their phantoms. No amount of ruination nor loneliness will shift them. Their spectres are trauma tethered, bound to brick or stone. The old dynamite hut on the coast at Amber Cove is one such spot. – George Kindred, 'Haunted Hookland', 1970 #Ghosts

Did I mention I did the soundtrack for this book trailer myself? You can probably tell! I thought I might as well have a go when a chum said 'all you need is a drone on a keyboard'. So I dug out my 80s Yamaha keyboard and recorded all the bits on a phone app. DIY! youtu.be/NvMrDeKg3NU?...
