DH 2 Awards

The annual open Digital Humanities Awards are now accepting nominations for 2026. The DH Awards are a set

of openly-nominated openly-voted annual awards run as a DH awareness raising activity. The awards are nominated and voted for entirely by absolutely anyone. These awards are intended to help put interesting DH resources in the spotlight internationally and engage DH users (and the public) in the work of the DH community. Awards are not specific to geography, language, conference, organization or field of humanities.

Note: There is no financial prize. Self-nominations are encouraged. Resources only needs to be nominated once. The only tests are: Is it loosely DH, can voters get to it, has it launched or had an update in 2026, and is it in the right category.

Nominations are open until 2026-12-31.

For avoidance of doubt, we agree entirely! While we don't sanction trying to trick people into believing an award is more meaningful than it really is, all awards are made up. DH Awards is just an invention that draws attention to Digital Humanities resources. Luckily, we have no prizes or medals!

Awww, thank you. I'm glad you think it is useful, and congrats on winning the ShortPub category. Feel free to use the (admittedly crappy) category icon if you wish!

All excellent pedagogical ideas! There is the limitation of course that it is not necessarily representative and that we do not screen for quality. Part of your Take 5, Pick 1 idea would presumably be considering such a quality, with then a discussion of why they think that makes something 'better'.

Thank you for every vote! I am really happy that Sappho Digital turned out to be the first runner-up in the category »DH Dataset or Model« of the Digital Humanities Awards 2025! I’d like to use this moment to introduce the project a bit more – so here’s a short thread 🧵

The results for #DH Awards 2025 are now live. Sorry if your favoured resource did not win in this openly nominated, openly voted #DigitalHumanities awareness activity. There's no real prize (winners may use the associated icon), other than everyone seeing the resources. dhawards.org/dhawards2025...
