Eric Schmitt Deserves to Be Mocked Forever
In this week’s Elie v. U.S., our justice correspondent relives the senator’s glorious face plant. Plus: whyt John Roberts’s also deserves our mockery.

Somehow not everyone is aware of fact alluded to below. So one more time: John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett were all on GWBush 2000 'Florida Recount' team. (Which made GWB first prez in 112 yrs to 'win' after losing popular vote. Now they 'impartially' rule on our future.)

Can each member of his family be publicly shamed on all their social media and self promotion crap as elder abusers? I know they don’t feel shame but someone in their circles might realize how damaging to their image he is becoming. Abusers all of them

FCC head says government-funded Trump ads are ‘normal’ and ‘don’t raise any red flags’
Brendan Carr said the ads are “normal-course public service announcements” and nothing that would “merit any sort of” review by the Federal Communications Commission.

This made me laugh, thank you. I have not seen the wizard if oz and have chosen to keep it that way. People are very opinionated about my choice but I read it don’t feel the need to watch it. At this point it’s more entertaining having people get riled up about it.

As an American political historian, I can confirm that this Congress has been "almost unmatched in history" in several categories -- sad abdication of its war powers, craven surrender of the power of the purse, weird refusal to conduct meaningful oversight, and an utter failure to pass actual laws.

Sick enough now 8 people have to call out instead of 1. Now you need substitutes for all of them. So now paying paid sick leave and for subs. Plus a virus is now moving through your school. Bravo.

This is a huge & frequent talking point of mine. I don’t understand how people can think forcing someone to work actually is good economics. I always give an example of a school I worked at, the owner insisted you come sick. That one sick person comes in contact w/ other teachers, they get sick.

Always did this w/ my 5 kids. Walk & talks. We still do it now & the youngest is nearly 18. They even walk & talk w/ each other, just to chat about life. My stepson is now wanting to walk & talk too. It’s wonderful what they share w/ you & sometimes a bit of “not sure I needed to know that.”😁

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

I agree for many it is reassuring 2 have someone else think 4 them. It is less work not gathering knowledge or use critical thinking which can challenge beliefs. Often picking someone they hope has the experience/knowledge they know they lack. It also allows them to not take any responsibility.
