We are saddened to learn of the passing of our former Managing Director Klaus G. Saur, who led De Gruyter until 2008. Klaus G. Saur was one of the most respected figures in German-language academic publishing, known for his lifelong commitment to the world of scholarship and libraries.

As part of our Adopt a #Library program, Brill donates a selection of inspection copies to a different library in need every year. This year, team members cataloged, packed and shipped over 500 books and 200 journal issues to the Western Ukrainian National University in Ternopil.

When we asked academic librarians for their views on #AI use they had... feelings. Among 300+ librarians from 31 countries, most agreed that AI was considered a legitimate tool at their institution. Yet compared to academic staff and administrators, they were far more cautious in their acceptance.
